Selecting a Printer
Selecting a printer is not as easy as you may think. The printer you use should be a modern printer and the printer driver must be up-to-date and compatible with not only the operating system but also the database we use, FileMaker® Pro 5.5. Often, on Windows PCs, the printer driver can interfere with the proper operation of FileMaker Pro when it is on the host computer.

Here are a few rules that we must insist upon, especially with PCs:
Ideal printer setup
The most ideal printer situation is a truly networked laser printer. Many companies make inexpensive, networkable, laser printer with built-in 10/100 ethernet print servers. We have had good experience with Brother, NEC and HP. These printers have connectivity using both TCP/IP and AppleTalk for mixed environments and their printers drivers are, for the most part, compatible with the Windows version of FileMaker Pro.
